Avvo Answer notifications missing? Yeah… our bad.
Some of you have noticed that your Avvo Answer notifications have been missing this week. Last week we shipped a subtle, but fairly major change to Avvo Answers. This includes giving the consumer a chance to flag an answer as “best” as well as some other fun stuff. We also completely reimplemented notifications…. and we broke some stuff. Sorry about that, but it all should be fixed now (as of a few minutes ago).
Incidentally, Avvo Answers got some TV PR this week and we’re overflowing with new questions – so there are plenty to choose from!
Look for more Avvo Answers changes in the next few weeks.

An answer I posted in response to a question concerning how long one has to file suit though textually accurate refers the reader by links purportedly containing further info on subject. The links are wrong and need to be corrected. There seems to be no editing function once answer posted. What can I do??

Unfortunately it is not only the consumer who is doing the flagging. Have you noticed that Frank Chen, in recent days at least, invariably gets at least one thumb’s up? He is the only lawyer I have seen who gets more than 20-30% of his answers rated An interlock prevents him from doing this on his own answers, but my guess is that he has a colleague who is tuned in to do this, perhps in exchange for a similar boost from Frank on his own answers. I suppose I should just admire his ingenuity, but he burns up 20 points each time he does this so by the time I see it I sometimes can’t even get 15 points for an answer.
