Top Viewed Lawyers in November 2008

1. Oscar Michelin of Mineola, NY debuts on the list.  Achieving Level 6 Contributor status through answering questions on Avvo Answers vaulted him to the top.

2. Margery Golant of Fort Lauderdale, FL debuts on the list.  Her appearance can also be attributed to answering dozens of questions per week on Avvo Answers.

3. William Head of Atlanta, GA.  For those of you who like statistics, Mr. Head has made the most out of his Avvo Profile.  He has 54 client reviews, 34 peer endorsements, 63 photos and 21 videos.

4. Neil Barofsky of New York, NY.  Barofsky appears on the list, because he has been in the news.  He is a  U.S. prosecutor from New York, who President Bush has nominated to be the special inspector general for TARP, but a GOP Senator has placed a block on his nomination.

5. Bruce Abel of Irvine, CA.  Another new entrant to the list, Abel practices personal injury law and is already a Level 4 Contributor.

6. Milton M. Ferrell Jr. of Miami, Fl.  Ferrell Jr. (now deceased) appears on the list, because he has been in the news.  Mr. Ferrell was a Miami lawyer, philanthropist and Democratic Party activist who died from mesothelioma, an asbestos-linked cancer.  Mr. Ferrell died quite wealthy but had worked on cars in his youth, inhaling asbestos fibers doing brake jobs.

7. Thuong-Tri Nguyen of Renton, WA.  Thuong-Tri has been a top-viewed lawyer on Avvo since June 2008 – due to his heroic contributions to Avvo Answers.  To date, he is in the only attorney to have reached the vaunted heights of Level 8 Contributor.

8. Sheldon Zabel of Chicago, IL.  Zabel (now deceased) appears on the list because he recently passed away.  From his firm’s website:  “Sheldon A. Zabel, the immediate-past partner in charge of Schiff Hardin’s Environmental Group, passed away Friday, October 17 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital of pneumonia at the age of 67. One of the most experienced environmental attorneys in the profession, he played a vital role when Schiff Hardin became one of the first major U.S. law firms in the late 1960’s to establish a practice group devoted to environmental law.”

9. James J. Gross of Chevy Chase, MD.  Gross is another new entrant to the list – based on the strength of his contributions to Avvo Answers.

10. William Dwyer of Houston, TX.  Dwyer makes the cut for the top 10 based on his valuable & frequent contributions to Avvo Answers.
