Avvo is seeking a Community Manager

Hot off the presses:

We are growing our team at a feverish pace and are currently looking for a talented Community Manager. Overall responsibility will be to drive adoption and engagement among users, early adopters, and influencers through grassroots, word-of-mouth and outreach marketing. We are looking for someone who “gets” social media and user-generated content, has the zeal of an “evangelist” and the empathy of customer care manager. This position will report to our VP of Products and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies and programs to drive user and community adoption and engagement
• Lead outreach programs, both online and offline
• Build communities of Avvo users on Avvo.com, as well as on other community sites (e.g. Facebook).
• Engage and communicate about Avvo with the community in online forums and blogs
• Cultivate and manage relationships with influential community members and “super-users”
• Create and manage programs that will keep the community motivated and engaged
• Evolve community management and abuse policies and help to monitor them
• Advocate on behalf of customers to build great products

Qualifications:

• 4+ years in online community development, product marketing, or similar roles that include significant customer interaction.
• Heavy user of, and contributor to, online communities, including social networks and user generated content sites
• Creative thinker who can dream up new ways to build and engage a community
• Willing and able to “evangelize” Avvo and recruit community members
• Highly empathetic with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in an online environment.
• Loves to interact with individuals and groups
• Passionate user advocate and demonstrated consumer mind-set.
• Start-up experience a plus.
• BA required. J.D. a plus, but not required.
