Claim your profile with a verified e-mail address
July 6th, 2007 by Justin Chan, Avvo Development Team
Today we are pleased to release a new feature on Avvo - the ability to claim your lawyer profile via e-mail. If Avvo has managed to locate your e-mail address from public sources, and you can access e-mails sent to that address, you can now claim your profile simply by clicking on a link in a verification e-mail that Avvo sends to you. You can use this feature as an alternative to entering your credit card information.
Look for more exciting features coming out in the next few months!

I am a 30 year+attorney and have evolved my practice into representing doctors, lawyers, and judges along with other professionals. I came across you in a Adam Liptak column, “The First Thing to Do is Rate All the Lawyers” and was getting ready to speak to 70 attys. at the monthly meeting of the Denton County Bar Assocication in Cornith, Texas. About 70 lawyers showed up and only one had heard of you. I passed out the Liptak column and commented that eveyone in the room would go back to their office and look up their rating. Addressing lawyer ethics on a daily basis, I think Avvo is a great idea and one that should gain wide popularity. I am speaking to the Houston Mexican American Bar Association tonite and plan to mention it again. The connection with Thomas Friedman’s recent column on the blogosphere and getting your “hows” right was very timely. If you need a board certified expert on legal ethics for the lawsuit, let me know. I need to visit some family in the northwest anyway. best wishes, and keep up the good work.
